When You Cannot Move Forward
There are moments where movement feels difficult.
Not because you don’t want to move.
But because something in you does not follow.
You may have clarity.
You may know what needs to be done.
And still, there is hesitation.
A slowing.
A pause that does not shift easily.
This can feel frustrating.
Because from the outside, it can look like inaction.
But from the inside, it feels different.
Like something is not yet aligned.
The Instinct to Push Through
When movement slows,
the instinct is often to increase effort.
To try harder.
To create more structure.
To apply more pressure.
To move yourself forward
whether you feel ready or not.
This approach can work temporarily.
But it often creates more friction.
Because what is being metis not a lack of discipline.
It is a lack of readiness.
And readiness cannot be forced.
What Resistance Actually Is
Resistance is often misunderstood.
It is seen as something to overcome.
Something to push through.
Something standing in the way.
But resistance is not obstruction.
It is information.
A signal that something is not yet settled.
Not yet clear.
Not yet aligned.
Not yet ready to move.
It does not mean you will not move.
Only that you cannot move in the same way,
at the same pace,
or at this moment.
Signs You Are in Resistance
You might notice:
Knowing what you want to do
but not following through.
Starting and stopping.
Returning to the same point repeatedly.
A sense of internal friction
when you try to move forward.
You may question yourself.
Wondering why it feels so difficult
to do something that seems simple.
But resistance is not confusion.
It is a pause that has not yet resolved.
What to Do in Resistance
There is no need to increase pressure here.
No need to force movement
before it is ready.
Instead, the focus shifts to understanding.
What is not yet clear?
What is not yet settled?
What feels incomplete or unresolved?
This is not about analysing everything in detail.
It is about noticing
what is still asking for attention.
Movement will return.
But it returns more naturally
when resistance is understood
rather than overridden.
What Resistance Is Not
It can be easy to interpret resistance as failure.
As a lack of discipline.
A lack of motivation.
A sign that something is wrong.
But resistance is not failure.
It is not something broken that needs fixing.
It is part of the process of alignment.
A moment where something is still forming.
Even if that formation is not yet visible.
The Space Before Movement
Not all pauses are delays.
Some are preparation.
A quiet gathering of what is needed
before something can move forward clearly.
You are not behind.
You are not stuck in the way it may feel.
You are in a space before movement.
And when movement returns,
it will feel different.
Less forced.
More certain.
More aligned with where you are now.
There is nothing to push.
There is only something
that is not yet ready.
And that, for now, is enough.
